If I put a title with H1 tag on my homepage and hide it, would this hurt my rankings?

No, but why would you hide it?

I’d rather have something else. The heading is basically there for SEO purposes re: what we do, where we are.

You know the h1 can be at the bottom.

      Sequence holds no weight?

Sorta but it’s a tag and will be recognised. I say sorta because google put more weight on the top vs bottom but it’s still a h1 tag.

Make the h1 at the top be rsos on the kw. Then use h2 for the title you want.

Just blend the text. Not sure why you would want to, though.

It would be considered as black hat SEO. Why not show H1 Tag? You can use the H1 tag and modify the font size within the HTML.
